If you're curious, here's how I made the green skin:

I installed the Classic skin and then copied all the files from the \Program Files\TouchPal\Resources directory (with the exception of the help and wizard directory) to my desktop.

I then proceeded to load all the files into GIMP (google it) and ran Filters/Colors/Colorify and selected green for all the files.   I had to manually color top_normal.png because it seemed a bit too dark.  I just brightened it a bit and Colorified it green.

The only files I didn't colorify were all the 1 bit color depth files.  That is, all the *.png files in the Resources directory with the exception of:

top_highlight.png
top_normal.png
indics.png
bk_bk.png

Then I copied all the modified files back to my PPC and did a soft reset.

Easy as that!

Of course, you can get fancier and edit the bitmaps themselves.

Have Fun!

And of course, zip them up and post them on this skins forum for the rest of us.  Best if you zip up all the files, including the 1 bit color depth files.

Robb

Hi Robb!  Thanks for the great tutorial :)  I would like to make a pink skin using your directions.  I have Gimp and have colorified a few of the files already, however, some of them (such as the highlight png's) are not able to be colorified.  How did you change those files?  Thanks for all you help and have a wonderful day!

Michelle
