This skin is inspired by the latest released HTC Touch Pro :P Just an attempt.. Hope you like it. Didn't have time to work on the font tho'.

       
 
[Update - 16 Jun 08] I've made some 'amendments' to the 'precise text input' keyboard, the top portion where you select the 'abc', '123', etc. and the colour of the 'tick' at 'Option (or is it setting)' page. Enjoy!  =)

Glad that you like it. :) By the way, by 'front' you mean 'Style1' font?

Let me know if there's any improvement I can do to the skin. Will try my best to incorporate them. :)

Actually, I'm not too sure ROFL! I thought by front you meant things like the ABC and Sym buttons, the text size is a little large.

Oh hang on! You said "font"...whoops. Well, I just looked at it again, and tisk tisk, doesn't look anti-aliased to me. Unless, again, I am a complete retard which is slightly possible.

But really, it's great and I look forward to using it for a while. Now I've found a few really great skins I like so I can change them as I fancy.

Don't waste too much time on it though, make some more good skins! Smile thanks for your work! Wink

Yes, the letters are not anti-aliased. :) Realised they are pretty ok with this skin.. may try to play with them.. but have yet to come across nice font type. :P Maybe I'll just anti-aliase the simple font..

And yes, I did change the 'ABC', '123', design. Just my 'experiment'.. You can always use back to original one. :)

Will continue to come out with nice skin.. just that sometime no 'inspiration'.

Nice skin, any chance of adding alternate colors to better match various phone themes?  I like the black look, but the green is much different than the rest of my phone theme.  Thanks much for the work!

Ah, I include both skin in there. You have to rename 'background2' to 'background'. Notice, not 'bakground2'.

there are  blank columns on each side of the keyboard.. like the keyboard could be stretched outmore and take advantage of the longer landscpae screen
 
i love the color adjustments !

Think for landscape, that's how TouchPal looks like. Not because of my skin. I followed the dimension from the original skin.
 
If I've time, will do a two-tone gradient colour (e.g. from light red to darker red) for the directional tab. Pretty tedious.
 
Also, maybe a slightly different 'precise' text input keyboard (see green one for e.g.).

I really like your two skins posted.  However, I have tried your two skins and both of them will not display the words (in black) at the top of the keyboard.  I can see the red letters, but not the black.  The boxes are blank.  Hard to use Touchpal without those words being displayed in the box.  Any suggestions on the problem or how to fix?  Thanks.

i noticed that when i type letters i am not seeing them in the preview panel above .. if i tap the panel though i word pops up on my screen.... using the red version

This is the exact problem that I have...as mentioned in my post above.  However, hard to tap on blank boxes.  You aren't sure if you are selecting the right word when you can't see it.  Confused

I am not 100% sure, but I thought Cootek said the old skins will not work with the new v3.5.  Maybe this is why you guys are having issues with Sian's skin.
 
Can anyone confirm that the v3.0 skins are not compatible with v3.5?

Yes, this skin is meant for TP v3.1 only.
 
While you can simply use the keyboard skin, you would need to edit the indic.png file and some other file e.g. style, highlight (from the v.3.5) so that they can display correctly in this skin. Fundamentally v.3.5 default Diamond skin is black text on white background, while this skin is white text on black background. Thus, if you use the v.3.5 other files with this keyboard skin, you will get black text on black black ground.
 
Also, the style file in this version has less character than the v.3.5. But not sure whether this has any issue.
 
I've done a v.3.5 iphone-ish colour white square keyboard skin. Not perfected yet tho'. Or should I said, not satisfied yet. I think I will post it for those who doesn't mind using it to try it out. :)

That explains my issue.  I had to download Touchpal again because of an update to my phone that wiped it clean.  Used to have V3 and now have V3.5.  Will just have to watch out for 3.5 skins.  Shame that the old skins won't easily work.

It's really not that difficult if you have some basic knowledge of illustration / design tool. For me, it's a self-learning experience to use GIMP. Pretty easy and comprehensive tool. Still exploring it.. but can do the skin already. :)
