Sometimes you don't want to type in predictive mode. E.g., typing an email address, an account name or a password. Then you can disable the dictionary and switch to the Precise Input Mode by Sliding Up on the Backspace key.

In this mode, you can either:

1. Tap on a letter directly to input that letter. E.g., tap on "t" to input "t" ; or
2. Slide left/right to correct your selection; or
3. Press & hold a key to expand and select the proper letter.
