Upgrade from V2 or V3.x

1. Before you install, backup your registration code and custom word dictionary first!
Registration code: Go to Start -> Settings -> Personal -> Input -> TouchPal -> Activate. Write down the 5 digit registration code.
Custom word dictionary: Go to installation folder "Program Files\TouchPal\Surfaces\" and copy the "xxx_user_dic" files (e.g., "eng_user_dic") to a safe place.

2. Unselect "Set as default" in TouchPal options. Reboot.
TouchPal options : Go to Start -> Settings -> Personal -> Input -> TouchPal.

3. Uninstall TouchPal and its language packs. Reboot. Then delete the "Program Files\TouchPal" folder in the file explorer .

4. Install TouchPal 4.0. ([optional] Install language packs.) Reboot.

5. [optional] Copy the old custom word dictionary "xxx_user_dic" to "Program Files\TouchPal\Surfaces\<language>" and rename the file to "user_dic". Reboot.

6. Re-activate TouchPal V4 with your original registration code. Go to Start -> Settings -> Personal -> Input -> TouchPal -> Activate. If you are a V2 registered user, please look at the following content to get your new V4 upgrade code. If you are a V3.x register user, your original registration code just works fine with V4.0.

Upgrade your license from V2

To thank for your support, we'd like to give our V2 registered users a one-time free upgrade to V4. If you paid by PayPal, please follow the steps below:

1. Fill in your V2 registration email OR your challenge code, and your V2 registration code. Click "Login".

2. In the next page, fill in the new Owner Name OR Challenge and get your new V4 registration code.

Notes:
* If you purchased V2 in other channels including Handango, PocketGear, ClickApps, etc , please follow the steps 1-4 above, then try to use your V2 registration code to activate. If it doesn't work, please send your payment receipt, original V2 registered email address, V2 registration code and your V4 Challenge Code, to upgrade@cootek.com
** You can get your V4 Challenge Code in Settings->Input->TouchPal->Activate
